Cherryville Elementary is very much a community school and focuses on providing a nurturing family atmosphere, with staff, parents and students working toward common goals. The school is committed to educating the whole child, preparing students for further education in a larger center, setting high expectations and constantly seeking to improve performance.
Cherryville Elementary operates on an extended day Monday through Thursday, which means that students are in attendance fifteen minutes longer each day from Monday to Thursday (7:42 - 2:10) and are in attendance for a half day on Friday (7:42 - 11:20).
Foundation Skills Assessment (FSA)
The annual Foundation Skills Assessment (FSA) is a province-wide assessment of BC students’ academic skills that provides a snapshot of how well our students are learning the foundational skills of Reading Comprehension, Writing and Numeracy.
“It is the mission of Cherryville Elementary School, as the center of a diverse rural community, to develop educated, versatile and responsible citizens, by providing positive learning experiences through the combined efforts of students, parents and staff.”
